To add a diacritic to a letter to form a character not included above, type the diacritic's code twice after the letter
e.g. p}} for p̀ (works for macron, breve, acute, grave, circumflex, caron, superscript dot, subscript dot, tilde, diaeresis).

- Use h following a letter to aspirate it:
- Type q, qh, x, z, zh, f, ~r, ~L, ~y, ~n, #a for क़, ख़, ग़, ज़, झ़, फ़, ऱ, ऴ, य़, ऩ, ॲ (extra letters for Marāṭhī and loan words in Hindī).
- For conjuncts, type the component letters consecutively (deleting virāma if necessary) e.g. jJ for ज्ञ, kS for क्ष.
- Numbers typed at the main keyboard are converted to Devanāgarī; those typed at the numeric keypad are not.
- Type M for ं (anusvara) and MM for ँ (candrabindu).
- Type H for ः (visarga) and V for ् (virāma).
- Type = for ़ (nukta).
- Type ' (apostrophe) for । (daṇḍa) and '' (2 apostrophes) for ॥ (double daṇḍa).

Apostrophe ' adds a diacritic to a letter i.e. t' ث, H' خ, d' ذ, r' (=z) ز, s' ش, S' (=D) ض, T' (=Z) ظ, g' غ.
Letters adjust automatically for their isolated, initial, medial, and final forms. - Hamza: - (hyphen) for ء, A for إ, -A for أ, w-- for ؤ, y-- for ئ .
- Vowel diacritics: -a for ٱ, aa for آ, a# for َ , a## for ً , u# for ُ , u## for ٌ , i# for ِ , i## for ٍ , @ for ْ .
- Shadda: ~ (tilde) for ّ .
- Urdu and Farsi extra letters for aspiration, ṭ, ḍ, ṛ, ṅ, e, zh, k, g, c, p:
